The inspiration for La Espresso came from the brewing handle, a symbol of espresso coffee. Yun Yun Hung integrated this handle into the coffee-making process, giving users a familiar feel. The handle's shape and the process of falling powder give users the feel of making coffee at home, even when they're on the go.
What sets La Espresso apart is its unique properties. Traditional espresso machines are not portable, but La Espresso changes that. With the structure of a non-electric espresso machine, it integrates all the brewing coffee processes from heating, grinding beans, extracting, and frothing. This way, coffee lovers can have a home-like coffee experience wherever they are.
La Espresso is made from durable materials such as stainless steel, metal, zinc alloy, and rubber. The design includes a grinder, handler, espresso maker, milk froth cup, and portable gas burner. Each component is compact and designed for easy transport, making La Espresso a perfect travel companion for coffee enthusiasts.
The operation of La Espresso is simple and intuitive. Users start by heating hot water and preheating the cylinder for extraction. They then grind the coffee beans, spread the powder on the tray, and compact it. The tray and extraction appliance are combined based on the coffee powder disc. After introducing hot water into the cylinder and waiting for a few seconds, the piston and force handle are added to stabilize the pressure. The extraction process takes 20-35 seconds, after which users can heat and froth milk to enjoy a perfect cup of coffee.
La Espresso was designed and developed between November 2020 and February 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan. The design reflects Yun Yun Hung's commitment to innovation and user experience, as well as his passion for coffee. The Golden A' Design Award it received is a testament to the design's excellence, creativity, and impact on the world of coffee making.
